Writers may put up their stories for free but it is readers who drive the enterprise.

I have never met a writer who didn’t enjoy being read, so from my point of view, Medium has found an excellent niche. It is a platform where there are few if any barriers to publishing and a huge pool of people who want to read.
To write, simply open an account, press the button labelled “Write”, do your thing, and then press the button labelled “Publish”. That’s it.
No contracts, no agents, no blogs, no websites, no social media. Publishing made easy.
Ay, here’s the rub
The tricky part is finding readers for your stories. It’s not a matter of “Write it and they will come”, not unless you are super lucky and your story goes viral.
Raising the visibility helps enormously. A good title and lead image help your story stand out. Put some effort into those two things and…
