My first thought on seeing the thing was that they had given the OE a shunting engine. They could have made this a truly legendary set with a bit more effort. Something like HA Bricks S3/6 engine would have done well and been authentic to boot.

6-wide design sells the thing a bit short but I guess they have to fit it in the box. The interiors look the part, for sure. Just wondering where all that luggage goes. Is there no baggage car?

This is one set that the train buffs will have running around display tracks and it's disappointing that Lego didn't put the same effort into this that they do into a base grade cargo train.

Just having it as a display piece - and at over a metre long that in itself is a big ask - is ridiculous. This could be a real showpiece set.
